Family Engagement

The success of our school depends on all of us; staff, students and families working together as a team. There are a number of ways for you to get involved in making MCS RI the best it can be.

Share your talents with the children: Throughout the school year, there will be opportunities to come in to the classroom or school, to enrich our community with your talents or interests. We invite family members into the school and/or classroom to share something meaningful with the children. For example; a favorite food, favorite story, favorite craft, plus other ideas are welcome. We will inform you of when and how to sign up for this activity.

Share expertise with staff and administration: Provide workshops for staff, volunteer your time doing administrative work, help plan and manage events, help make phone calls, web and graphic design, translate meetings and/or documents, help with fundraising opportunities, IT help, the list goes on and on! We welcome your ideas as well.

Provide needed items for the classroom: Each week, parents/families will provide healthy snacks for our classroom community, flowers for flower arranging and food preparation items.

Parent Nights

Each school year we host a series of Parent Nights. These are times dedicated for parents/family members to learn more about early childhood development, Montessori Community School of RI curriculum, and other relevant topics related to young children.

In the beginning of the year, we have a curriculum night. This is an opportunity for family members to visit their child’s classroom to learn more about the scope of the curriculum for the year and to see what their child is doing at school. The other Parent Night topics will be determined throughout the year and are based on need and interest.

All ideas for involvement are more than welcome. Let us know how you would like to get involved by filling out this form:
